Travel by camel for 4-5 hours each day and follow in the footsteps of Berber convoys, for an authentic and unforgettable journey through the Moroccan Sahara desert.
Our journey begins with a walk towards the Sahara Desert from M’hamid. Upon arrival, our team comprising of trained camel handlers, camels, and a skilled cook will be ready to welcome you at the starting point. Your baggage will be arranged and loaded onto camels to ensure your comfort during the walk. We will embark on our journey with camels and trek towards the end of palm trees grove where we will take a break for lunch. After a satisfying lunch, you can relax and take a nap while enjoying the breathtaking desert scenery. We will continue walking towards Sidi Naji, where we will camp for the night. During our journey, you will witness different desert landscapes and sceneries that will leave you awe-inspired.
Our schedule for the day includes a trek towards one of the highest dunes, which will take us past the ruins of Ksar Bousnina, an ancient kasbah. We will be taking a scheduled break for lunch under the calming shade of Tamarisk trees. Afterward, we will proceed with our journey towards Erg Zahar Dunes, a location well-known for its awe-inspiring and well-shaped golden dunes. From the top of these magnificent dunes, you will be able to witness a spectacular sunset. We will be spending the night in proximity to these dunes.
Our journey begins as we make our way on foot, following the steps of the dromedaries caravan towards Erg Sadra. As we traverse through the Valley of Draa, we take a brief pause to enjoy lunch at Erg Smar. Thereafter, you can rest and rejuvenate under the refreshing canopy of a Tamarisk tree. Our trek continues until we ultimately arrive at our destination, Erg Sedra, where we settle in for the night at our campsite.
Day 4 : Erg Sedra ❯ Erg Chegaga
Our itinerary for the day includes a visit to Erg Chegaga, one of the largest and highest dunes in Morocco, spanning over 50 km. This range of dunes is known for its breathtaking beauty. After a three-hour trek through various desert landscapes, we will pause for a midday meal. Following lunch, we will continue our trek towards Erg Chegaga, where we will witness an unforgettable sunset. Our evening plans include setting up camp and spending the night in the area.
Day 5 : Erg Chegaga ❯ M’hamid ❯ Zagora
Following the unforgettable sunrise and morning breeze, guests are invited to partake in a delectable breakfast served in the open air at the bivouac. Afterwards, guests will depart from the bivouac via 4-wheel drive and return to the village of Zagora, all while basking in the post-adventure glow and perhaps still feeling the sand between their toes. Arrival in the village of Zagora is expected around 12:30 p.m , where you end your Camel Trekking in Morocco Sahara Desert .
