Itinerary

DAY 1

Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Boumaln Dades

Our driver picks you up in Marrakech and heads toward the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,200m) through old Berber villages and crystal waterfalls. Visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site where films like Lawrence of Arabia were shot, then continue to the film studios of Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses before arriving at the Dades Gorges.

●  Stay: Hotel Panorama in Dades Valley or similar

DAY 2

Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Dunes

Head to the oasis of Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, then continue to Rissani, cradle of the Alaouite dynasty. Arrive at Merzouga desert camp for welcome mint tea and a spectacular sunset from the top of Erg Chebbi, followed by dinner under a starry sky.

DAY 3

Explore Erg Chebbi Dunes

Wake for a mesmerizing sunrise, then enjoy sandboarding and quad biking. Visit the Nomad people at the desert’s edge and the Gnawa music band in Khamlia. In the evening, ride camels to the highest dune for sunset, then dinner and music around the fire.

DAY 4

Erg Chebbi Dunes – Merzouga – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes

Ride back from the dunes by camel or car, then drive along the Ziz Valley’s millions of palms toward Midelt, known for its apple farms. Continue through the Cedar forests of Azrou (watch for Barbary apes), stop in Ifrane — the “Switzerland of Morocco” — before arriving in Fes.
